Use this article as a guide to displaying adjusted weights
Introduction
Understanding shrink in weights from the paddock, to the yards, to the feedlot or to the abattoir is an important aspect of managing and marketing cattle.
The Optiweigh algorithms are designed to be the same as a very full yard weight - the type of situation that an Auctions Plus assessor might use a 5% discount for to get to empty weight. But even then there can be variations. And while we don't yet understand all the reasons around this variation we do know that the differences can be very consistent when the conditions remain similar.
This is why many producers choose to display an adjusted weight alongside their Optiweigh in-paddock weight.
Displaying Adjusted Weights
Adjusted weight can be set when starting a new session, or editing an old or current session.
Adjusted weights can only be seen on the Optiweigh web portal or with the daily email
Select the weight type from the 'Adjusted Weight' dropdown menu.
Then type in the adjustment percentage.
The adjusted weights can be seen on the dashboard, the distribution chart and both the individual animal reports
